FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 14, 2008

Rain Out Games

Rain out cancellations are done in many ways but keep in mind that PYSA has very no control in the weather so understand that even though it is raining we may decide to play games as we do monitor the forecasts which may show clearing within a reasonable time after the start of the games for the day.

Information or directions on what a coach / team should do will always be displayed in the marquee on the front page of the website by 7:00 AM on game day.

However we may:

bulletCancel games based on field conditions before 7:00 AM on the day of the games or the night before, again depending on weather forecasts and field conditions at the time of cancellations.
bulletThe second way in which a game cancelled is by the Referee at the field.
bullet All teams have arrived and the game begins.  At a point during the game there is an apparent danger i.e. lightening, field flooding or not draining due to the amount of rain coming down which has deteriorated the field being played on.
bulletA Referee working with the coaches has the right to postpone game play for up 20 minutes and no longer depending on the circumstances.
bulletTeams/players will go to a protected safe place i.e. automobile, building etc.  The teams will remain at the field parking area at minimum until it is decided if the game will be re-started.
bulletIf the conditions do not change within 20 minutes the game is cancelled and needs to be rescheduled by the hosting team coach and the town coordinator.  This rescheduled game will be played in full when it is played.
bulletIf conditions do clear, the game is restarted with the balance of the time left to be played until finished.
bulletIf PYSA is hosting an out of town team and you the coach has received a call or learned by the website that the game is cancelled you the coach is required to contact the coach of the out of town team and let them know that the games are cancelled and that once makeup dates have been given to you they will be notified.
bulletAny Plymouth teams traveling out of town need to contact your hosting team coach to verify the schedule for Saturday or Sundays game.  PYSA does not control their schedules so please contact them ASAP to learn if your game has been cancelled.
